The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage. – Psalm 16:6
In the book of Genesis, the Bible records that God placed man that He created in the garden that He made – the Garden of Eden. Eden means “Pleasure”. Just think about it, God placed His first man in the garden of pleasure. From the very beginning, God determined that our lives should be full of pleasure. Psalm 5:12 (AMP) says, “For You, Lord, will bless the [uncompromisingly] righteous [him who is upright and in right standing with You]; as with a shield You will surround him with goodwill (pleasure and favour).”
David understood this when He said, “The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage” (Psalm 16:6). The Contemporary English Version puts it this way, “You make my life pleasant, and my future is bright”. What a confession! In the 11th verse, he said, “…in thy presence is fullness of joy: at thy right hand there are pleasures forevermore” (Psalm 16:11)
As born again Christians, we were born right in the presence of God, where there’s fullness of joy, and we dwell with Christ at His right hand, where there’re endless pleasures. Contemplate on this truth today, for your knowledge of the truth will make you free.
