…Much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ – Romans 5:17

God gave us righteousness as a gift. The Bible says, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23). Eternal life is the divine nature of God, and this divine nature is righteousness. When you were born again you were made righteous. You received God’s nature into your spirit: “they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign as kings in life” (Romans 5:17).

Romans 5:17 shows that those that will reign in life are the ones who have received the gift of righteousness. Everybody has been given the free gift of righteousness through Christ Jesus, but it’s not everybody that has received it. Those who have received it are those who are born again. Hallelujah!

God credited righteousness to your account when Jesus was raised from death (Romans 4:25). You received it when you received Christ as your Lord. He gave it to you freely. It’s not something you worked for neither do you need to beg for it. The Bible says, we’ve been justified (declared righteous) freely by His grace (Romans 3:24).

You can receive God’s wonderful gift of righteousness today if you haven’t yet done so, by asking Jesus to come into your heart and to be Lord over your life right now (by clicking here). That way, God’s nature of righteousness will be imparted into your spirit.

Confession (Proclamation of Faith)

Thank you Father for giving me the gift of righteousness which causes me to reign and rule in life as a king and enables me to stand boldly before you without guilt, condemnation or inferiority! Thank you for making Christ Jesus, who knew no sin to be sin for me, that I might not only receive righteousness, but become the righteousness of God in Him.
