And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you – John 16:23

Jesus lets us know that His Name is effective before the Father. In His Name, you can ask the Father for anything. You might ask, “Is it really that simple?” Sure it is! Jesus never lied to anyone. Notice He didn’t say “Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, He might consider giving it to you”. Neither did He say “…He will give it to you only if you deserve it.”

Many pray and say, “O Lord, I’m unworthy, and I know I don’t deserve to have what I’m asking for, but I’m only asking you for Jesus’ sake.” They think they’re being humble when they pray like that, but that’s ignorance on rampage.

Yes, before you were born again you were unworthy and undeserving of God’s attention and blessings, but Jesus took your place and died for you. From the moment you received Christ, and made Him the Lord of your life, you became worthy of His attention, deserving of His kindness and all of His blessings. Why? Because you’re now in Christ Jesus, therefore your righteousness is not the righteousness of your acts, but the righteousness of His acts. His righteousness has qualified you for His blessings, and made you worthy and rightly positioned to enjoy God’s best: “Giving thanks to the Father, Who has qualified {and} made us fit to share the portion which is the inheritance of the saints (God’s holy people) in the Light” (Colossians 1:12 AMP)

So now, you can act in boldness, and ask for anything in the Name of Jesus, and have God’s full attention. You’re no longer an outsider. By virtue of the new birth, you’ve been brought into His glorious presence and wonderful Kingdom; that’s where you live now! So you can approach Him boldly and ask what you want! He said, Whatsoever you ask the Father, in my name, He will give it to you,” and that includes what you have in mind right now—whatever you want Him to give you or do for you. That means, when you make a demand or ask anything in His Name, He’ll see to it that it happens. So right now, based on this knowledge, go ahead and ask what you want; receive it and don’t doubt.

Please click here if you aren’t yet born again. God bless you.

Prayer

Dear Father, I thank you for the glorious life you’ve given me in Christ, where I reign and rule every day by taking advantage of the power in the Name of Jesus. I declare right now, in the Name of Jesus, that all my needs today are met, and every requirement for the fulfilment of your destiny for me is supplied, by the power of your Spirit! Amen.
