For you have been born again. Your new life did not come from your earthly parents because the life they gave you will end in death – 1Peter 1:23 (The New Living Translation)
I’ve heard some people say that when a man is born again, his old nature and the new nature in Christ exist side by side. They use this way of thinking to excuse their wrong actions. So, they love to say, “My old man rose up” whenever they act contrary to the Word. Nothing could be more untrue! When you were born again, the life of God completely supplanted the human life with which you were born by your earthly parents.
The Bible says “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he IS a new creation: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (2Corinthians 5:17). That means the man who is born again is a completely new species; one that never existed before. He has only one nature-the nature of righteousness. Your body looks the same, but every ounce of human life has been emptied and replaced with the divine life of God.
The Bible says, “Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust” (2Peter 1:4). There is no other nature in you except the nature of God. Righteousness is your only nature now that you’re born again. I want you to think about this consciously today.
There’re people who say it’s human nature to do wrong, “to err is human”, they’d say. Well, that’s the reason your human nature was replaced with the nature of God righteousness at the new birth. The life inside you now is not the human life with which you were born by your parents; it’s the life of God. That means you’re no longer subject to the limitations and imperfections of the human life. That sickness you may be feeling is only a mirage, a lie of the devil. God doesn’t get sick, doesn’t burn out and doesn’t waste, and since you have His nature, you shouldn’t as well.
Please click here if you aren’t yet born again. God bless you.
Confession (Faith’s Declaration)
I’m a partaker of the divine nature! Down in my heart is the life and nature of God. I arise today in my spirit to the realization that I am a completely new type of man, not the same person born of the flesh, but one born of God-His nature of righteousness is my only nature.
