Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth. 5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold; how great a matter a little fire kindleth! – James 3:4-5

You may not know it, but every time you speak, you shape your life and future. You are today, what you said years ago. That means you’re fully responsible for your future. Your future is in your mouth. God anointed your words with power the moment the Holy Spirit came to reside in you (If you’re born again). Proverbs 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue…” and that’s no mistake! With your mouth you can choose which would be your lot; death or life. In the same vein, the Lord Jesus said, “For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned” (Matthew 12:37). He didn’t say by your parents or friend’s words but by the words than come out of your own mouth. So, it’s up to you!

If you keep on saying, “Nobody ever likes me; nobody ever loves me; nobody ever helps me”, that’s what you’ll have. Don’t join the bandwagon of those who always whine and complain about everything. Rather, chart your course to a greater and brighter future with your mouth. Stop talking about your problems; begin rather to declare your glorious future. Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. And the Lord Jesus said, “…WHOSOEVER SHALL SAY unto this mountain, be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; HE SHALL HAVE WHATSOEVER HE SAITH.” (Mark 11:23).

I’ve been prophesying about myself since I found out about this truth and no devil can shut me up. I never got sick nor in want of anything because of this truth. Hallelujah!

Always remember that your future is in your hands now! It’s high time you shaped things right, starting this moment because God isn’t about to do anything. He has done everything. All He asks of us is to believe and declare His truth (Word) about us (2 Corinthians 4:13). Paul said, Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses” (1 Timothy 6:12); meaning it’s your fight of faith and this fight has to do with your Word (Profession). David said, “I am for peace: but when I speak, they are for war” (Psalm 120:7).

Again, Paul said, “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:3-5) and that, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; ABOVE ALL, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God (Ephesians 6:12-17). God’s Word is our weapon to destroy the lies of the enemy (Hebrews 4:12).

Take hold of the truth of God’s Word about you. For example, His Word says, “you are His heir and a joint-heir with Christ” (Romans 8:17); therefore start declaring that everything that God’s is yours 100%, instead of talking about what you don’t have or that it’s not God’s will for you to be rich because that contradicts His Word.

Confession

I’m moving forward by the power of the Holy Spirit. Just as Isaac waxed great and became so great that the Philistines envied him and they couldn’t do anything about it, so also I’m moving forward, making progress, waxing stronger every day of my life and all hindrances are destroyed, in the Name of Jesus.
