And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel – Mark 5:20

The Lord Jesus is the bread of heaven and the water of life (John 6:33, John 4:14). When you encounter Him, your hunger is satisfied, and your thirst is quenched. If a man had been in search of something; maybe he’d been searching for peace, healing, security, or a job; the day he encounters Christ, he’ll receive answers and his problems will be solved. When this happens, such a man immediately becomes a ready witness for Christ.

This is what has happened to most of us; we’re turned on with love for the Master, to take the Gospel to the ends of the earth. We’re turned on by His example; He said in Luke 19:10, “…the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” Now, we’re on the same mission, for He said “…as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you” (John 20:21).

You’ve been sent as a witness of the resurrected Christ; therefore you ought to always have your feet fitted with the readiness of the Gospel. Having received Christ, you’d discover that nothing really and truly satisfies or gives greater joy than to witness to others about Him. That’s what happened to the woman of Samaria; after speaking with Jesus by the well, she ran into the city and announced: “Come see a man who told me everything I ever did; this must be the Christ!” (John 4:29); she became a witness.

Nathaniel also met Him and said, “This must be the king of Israel!” Andrew had to hurry to his brother, Simon Peter, to say: “I have found the Christ!” By meeting Christ, they all found answers to their questions and solutions to their problems, and immediately, they began spreading the Gospel.

If you’re already vitally involved in the preaching of the Gospel to people around you, keep at it, and do it with greater fervency. Many around us are still “thirsty” and desperately in need; they need to be told that there’s only one answer to their problems, and that’s Jesus.

If you don’t know Him yet, I urge you to receive Him in your life right now. Follow this link to find out how.
