The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple – Psalm 119:130

It’s your responsibility to let God’s Word gain entrance into your heart—your spirit. The Word has the ability to nourish and build you up spiritually, physically and materially: “And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified (Acts 20:32). In addition, the Word has the ability to wash, purify, and cleanse your spirit, ridding it of fear, doubt, and guilt.

When you allow the Word entrance into your heart, fear and doubt melt away, and faith takes over. The Word in you will give you the mindset of the righteous and cause strength to replace weakness. Emphasizing the transforming and purifying power of the Word, Jesus said, “…ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you (John 15:3). This means you can experience a day-to-day renewal in your life as you assimilate God’s Word into your spirit. The Word in your spirit will make you what it talks about, and cause you to grow unto maturity in Christ.

Some Christians tend to appraise their spiritual growth in terms of how long they’ve been in Christ. Well, you may have been a Christian for many years, but unless your mind is renewed, and the Word of God has gained dominion in your spirit, your life will be full of unnecessary difficulties. The Word in your spirit is what transforms your life and takes you from one level of glory to another.

What God seeks to give you in your life is not healing, money, a job or any of the physical things you could be asking for. What He seeks to give you is His Word in your spirit! He knows that the Word will bolster faith in your spirit and strengthen you against the adversities of life. Settle your heart on the Word. Make God’s Word your constant contemplation and you’ll be transformed from glory to glory.
